It’s the last post in the series for how to use your engagement picture ideas!  Try saying that fast three times.  I’m so excited to write this post because it has significant meaning for me, and maybe that’s why I saved the best for last.  It’s not a new idea, but above all, print your photos from your engagement session.  CD’s, DVD’s, USB’s, and images on a screen can never replace the feel of a tangible picture in your hand. Holding, seeing, feeling – those words all come alive to me whenever I look at the pictures from our anniversary session.

I know how difficult it is to narrow down your choices for printing, but starting with small proofs can help with the process.

Where should we display or hang our pictures?  Those are some of the same questions that I asked myself.  So, here’s part three for how to use your engagement picture ideas.

The Brainstorming Process…decisions, decisions, decisions…

I thought about waking up in the morning, where I spend the most of my time, and preserving some photos for our kids.

Waking up in the morning – We are considering a few spots in our bedroom to hang this photo.  It’s one of our favorites!  A few weeks ago, I found myself standing in front of a mirror, and smelling one of my husband’s sweaters because he was away for work.  This picture is so us because I snuggle up on him all the time to smell his cologne!   It’s framed in one of my studio’s most popular silver frames with a 16×20 mat. I knew that having a mix of pictures for frames, canvases, and desk sized images would give us the most options for display.

Where I spend most of my time – My home studio is where I spend most of my time, and I want to feel inspired and surrounded by those that I love the most.  I’ve gone back and forward about hanging client images in my studio, and I certainly do that when I have meetings and ordering sessions.  However, on a daily basis, I want to see pictures of my family.  These are the pictures that make me smile and bring me joy even in my most difficult days.  The canvas size is a 20×24, and is a show stopper. I love it!!!

Preserving photos for our kids – Our favorite photos were of us looking at each other, but I wanted to make sure that I printed a few photos of us looking at the camera.  I want them to have tangible photos of their mom and dad.

Digital pictures have their place for sharing on Facebook and Insta, but nothing can compare to a beautiful print hanging on your wall that makes you smile every. single. day.

Nothing can compare to preserving tangible photos of those that we love the most.

I hope that you have enjoyed this series of engagement picture ideas!  More than anything, I’m thrilled to include prints for every single engagement session and wedding that I photograph in 2016 and beyond.
