Although there was a threat of hail, thunderstorms, and a high percentage of rain for Kristy and Thien’s Friendly Crossways wedding this weekend, the skies cleared up, a peak of sun came by and it was the most beautiful day.

Their proposal story was a bit different as Thien stood in the rain for three hours waiting to propose to Kristy on what was supposed to be a hiking trip with a few friends.  But he was patient and he waited, and it was one of the best surprises ever.  

They embrace every moment together and even with the threat of rain and hail they were prepared to do just that.  Embrace the moment together.

They are kind, genuine, insightful, have a wonderful sense of humor and would not hurt a fly.  Literally.  A beetle landed on Kristy’s gown during her bridal portraits and she took the time delicately pick up it, say a few adoring words, and gently remove it.  Yes, that picture is going in their wedding gallery.

The possibilities of where to do their first look were endless.  Friendly Crossways is a beautiful wedding venue located in Harvard, MA. There are corn fields, sunflowers, bee hives, and beautiful gardens.  

I arrived early to walk the property with their friend, and wedding planner extraordinaire, Jacqui.  I decided that near the hydrangea garden, where they had a small Vietnamese ceremony the day before, would be fitting to continue their wedding day story.  

As Kristy walked across the lawn, Thien stood waiting to see his beautiful bride for the first time.  They wrote letters to each other but didn’t get an opportunity to print them out.  

I encouraged them to still read them even if they were on their phone screens because they were words that they wanted to share with one another on their wedding day, and it did not matter one bit if they weren’t on pretty stationary.

They embraced the moment and read their letters as a few raindrops fell from the sky.  

What a beautiful reminder to continue to embrace moments together, to embrace the ups and the downs through every season and to embrace whatever weather that comes their way throughout their marriage.

Kristy and Thien, thank you for the honor to be part of your day.  It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know you both, sharing emojis in text messages and emails, and your Kool-Aid man save-the-date was the best!!  May you find all the insects together on your honeymoon!!
