It was a beautiful sun filled day for Gabrielle and Kunal’s summer farm wedding day this past weekend. I’m delighted to share warm moments of their day.
Gabrielle and Kunal met in New York a few years ago at a meetup group. It was a work night, and they had no intentions of staying out til 4am talking and getting to know each other. They successfully made it through their workdays the following day, and that long night would become the beginning of their relationship.
They were engaged last May and said I do this past weekend on the same day that Gabrielle’s parents were married 34 years ago!
We started the day by keeping the bride and groom from seeing each other during their getting ready times.
I loved seeing the excitement on Gabrielle’s face when it was time for her to put on her gown. She was such a lovely bride and her gown was absolutely stunning.
We were successful at keeping them from seeing each other until their first look. As she walked towards Kunal, she would eventually say his name and the look on his face when he turned around makes me smile as I type.
Kunal has all of the jokes, and to see such a look of happiness all over his face was priceless.
Their ceremony was a traditional Quaker wedding in which songs were sung, readings were given, and a moment of silence was held.
The moment of silence lasted about fifteen minutes or so during the ceremony. It was a time in which their family and friends were able to share special words to the couple. There were fond childhood memories shared about them, and as a couple, and there were many words of encouragement.
Signing their marriage certificate was another special moment of their ceremony. Gabrielle’s sister is an amazing artist! She designed their marriage certificate which was signed by all of their guests. Witnessing their three grandmothers standing to sign their marriage certificate together was also a beautiful moment.
Gabrielle and Kunal, it was an honor to be with you and your families on one of the most special days of your life. Gabrielle, you have the BEST hugs and Kunal your jokes and photo ideas will always make me laugh. Congratulations, and enjoy your honeymoon!! xo, Shawon
