I love personal brand photography because while planning for your personal brand photoshoot I get to combine your vision for your brand with my love for business, storytelling, and styling behind the camera. It’s a perfect combination.

Being on the same page with your photographer and communicating exactly how you want to use your photos is important. You will have the photos that you need and get the most of our personal branding shoot.

The needs of a business professional who wants to have headshots to use on LinkedIn and business cards will be different from the needs of a business owner or entrepreneur who needs photos for launching a course or photos for content on social media for the next month or quarter.

Will your photos need white space for text, will you need horizontal and vertical images.

What is going on in your business this quarter?

Are you traveling, speaking, launching a course, is it your favorite season and you want to include your family, are you working on a project and you want to share behind the scenes or part of your process.

These are some of the things that I consider to effectively communicate your brand’s story, content, marketing and messages through your photos.

Each quarter or monthly, I meet with my branding clients and we come up with a strategic plan for the content that they need. On shoot day, I have a written plan and a shot checklist in hand.

When planning for your personal brand photoshoot, here’s some of the creative perspective that I use for a personal brand “shot list” that I want to keep in mind as I photograph and go through each story set of photos:

· Photograph the entire scene
· Step in for tighter shots and details
· Keep the rule of thirds in mind and leave space if there is a need for text on photos
· Get creative with different angles and photograph both in landscape and portrait orientations
· Add movement through standing, sitting and real actions that are authentic

And lastly, although not on the shot list. I want to make sure that poses, wardrobe, and light match the set/location and that they are authentic for my client.

If you are in the surrounding Metrowest Boston area and need a brand photographer who understands how to perfectly capture the essence of your brand in photos that stop the scroll, I’d love to chat. Schedule a consultation with me here!
