It was an honor to photograph Nikki + Jordan’s 4th of July Water’s Edge Resort wedding. I mean, what better way to celebrate your wedding day than on the 4th of July surrounded with your family and friends! Water’s Edge Resort & Spa is located in Westbrook, CT, and would be a perfect venue for any bride and groom who would enjoy views of the water, beach access, and an outdoor wedding. Although we did face a few sprinkles early in the day, Joanna and her team did a phenomenal job in making sure that the day went smoothly. I always ask couples what is something extra special that may be happening on your wedding day? The responses vary from we’re having a surprise bagpipe player for our guests, my family is coming from Korea, or my grandmother who has been ill is able to come. It’s a question that I ask because I want to capture everything and everyone that is important to the couple and their families. For Nikki and Jordan, it was her mom.
The wedding theme and colors were classic and New England inspired. The bridesmaid’s dresses were a beautiful cobalt blue and the groomsmen were donned in classic black tuxes and bow ties. Aside from the details, their family and friends had a great time celebrating with this gorgeous couple. I loved the long walk for the bride and her father across the lawn and down to the ceremony to meet the groom. Nikki looked absolutely stunning, and Jordan was as poised as can be as he waited for her.
After the ceremony, we had some time for a few more portraits with the newlyweds. You can hear the laughter, and feel the joy of their happiness. It was such an honor to photograph their day, and a great way to celebrate the 4th of July! Here are a few favorites from their day.
