This sun-filled Peir’s Park engagement session was one of my favorites.  Lia and Kevin wanted a special place of meaning to the both of them for their engagement pictures, and they did a great job in selecting a location that fit their personalities and one that allowed them to do something that they both love doing together – rollerblading!  Boston has many beautiful treasures, and Peir’s Park in East Boston is certainly one of them.  I enjoy discovering new pockets of the city, and Pier’s Park has a lot to offer.  The gorgeous view of Boston Harbor is one of them.  There is plenty of space to play, stroll, or put out a blanket for a picnic.

Lia and Kevin were absolutely perfect together, and the rollerblading races had me chuckling quite a bit behind the camera.  It puts a huge smile on my face to see couples in love.  I look forward to spending more time with them and photographing their wedding this September on the other side of the harbor.

I love engagement sessions because it is an opportunity for couple’s to get comfortable being in front of the camera.  Also, their engagement photos can be used as a guest sign in book, for save the dates, and I have also seen couples print and mat one of their favorite pictures for guests to sign at the wedding and they can later frame and hang in their new home.

I always promise a fun time, and remind them that they are there to just hang out, enjoy their time together,  and I’ll give them some things to do to interact with one another.

Sometimes that means a dance off, and other times that’s looking at each other and saying I love you with eyes only.
