As they walked down the dirt path they talked about their family, their upcoming wedding day, and the foundation of communication that is the glue of their relationship.  Many good things they shared as we walked along the dirt path, but the one that stood out the most was when he said, “I knew she was the one the moment that I saw her”.

The forecast changed all morning long in preparation for their Borderland State Park engagement pictures.  A tinkering mix of sun, clouds, and rain as I scrolled repeatedly through the weather app, but I knew that we were a go when Julie told me they were bringing an umbrella just in case it rained.

I should have known that not even a few sprinkles of rain could cause us to postpone to another day because adventure and nature are their love language.  

They are outdoor enthusiasts and their love for the great outdoors will forever be part of their story as Dave proposed on Mt. Washington.

The fall colors were brilliant for their Borderland State Park engagement pictures, and I’m so thankful that the trees were still full of leaves.   Although there was a small chill in the air,  they snuggled up and enjoyed every moment together as we scouted the park for light on off beaten paths and discovered unexpected beauty.

We started this discovery along a winding path that encompassed the park.  The view of the lake was ever so picturesque, and for a moment it felt as though we had been transported from Massachusetts to Colorado.

Julie spotted the last location that was the favorite.  You’ll see it below and nod your head in agreement and want to go there too.  I promise.   The rain started to sprinkle in towards the end of their session, but we got some of the best pictures of them having some fun.
