A sweet couple, plus an adorable tulle skirt, plus a city backdrop equals a beautiful Boston City Hall wedding. Yige and Xiaozhis have known each other since they were 15! They dated long distance for a good part of their relationship, and couldn’t wait any longer to say ‘I, do’ to become husband and wife.
While Boston is the beginning of their new life together, they have plans to celebrate with their family and friends later this year on beautiful Maui in Hawaii. These two love traveling together and have many selfies from their adventures, but they were most excited about having pictures from their wedding day that were fun and romantic to hang on their walls at home.
When I received the initial email about photographing Yige and Xiaozhis’s Boston City Hall wedding, in my heart I felt a huge resounding yes. It was a yes because my husband and I had two weddings, and from our first wedding we don’t have a single picture. Pictures were so important for Yige and Xiaozhis, and we spent the afternoon strolling through Boston doing just that. Occasionally, I would show them the back of my camera, and each time they became more and more excited knowing that they would have beautiful pictures of the two of them together, in their favorite city, on one of the most special days of their lives.
After their ceremony, we headed outside and took a few pictures in City Hall Plaza Boston with Faneuil Hall in the distance. I love that they were focused only each other as the city was filled with people passing by. They felt free to snuggle up, gaze into one another’s eyes, and laugh out loud.
Uber would be our mode of transportation for some photo locations around the city of Boston that were special to them. Here are a few favorites with their lovely day ending with pictures in the Boston Public Garden.

How sweet is Yige’s tulle skirt! She found it on Etsy, and here is a similar skirt.
If these Ciroa the Mr. and the Mrs. travel mugs caught your eye, this is the only place that I could find them for you.
Yige brought along this emoji pillow that she got for his birthday. This is such a fun photo of them and speaks of their sweet relationship.
Beautiful job on this engagement session!
Thank you so much, Vanessa!
