New England has some of the most beautiful beaches!  When I first moved to Rhode Island, almost 10 years ago, I never thought the beaches here would be as gorgeous as those in North Carolina.  Boy, was I wrong!  A friend told me about a few of her favorite beaches, and I set out with my family to see them for myself.  I think my favorite beach so far is down in Charlestown, Rhode Island.  Visiting Cape Cod this summer is on our family summer fun list, and I’m even considering having some beach mini sessions there as well.

I know, all of this beach talk and our forecast consisted of snow, crazy winds, and frigid temperatures this week.  Well, spring is here and it’s going to warm up soon, and then before you know it summer will be here.  Doesn’t that sound great!

This week for Fashion Friday, I put together a board of inspiration for what to wear  for your family pictures at the beach.  Here are also a few tips when planning what to wear:

• Always consider the setting of your pictures when you’re trying to figure out what to wear.
• Another tip is to start with mom’s wardrobe first, and coordinate everyone else with her outfit choice.
• Lastly, it can be windy at the beach especially towards the golden hour, so bring a light sweater or cardigan to keep warm and it adds another layer.
