I’m getting back into the swing of things after being away in San Francisco, CA last week for hands down our best summer vacation. I love spending time with my family, and this vacation, for us, was better than our trips to Disney!
One thing that we know for sure is that our family does vacation and any time away with having a plan. Our adventures are planned adventures, and we had a long list of things we wanted to do before we left.
After spending some time Googling, highlighting all of the must-see places and things to do for tourists, our list included riding along the Golden Gate Bridge, strolling around Pier 39, hanging on tight for a ride on the famous San Francisco cable cars, and seeing the redwoods!
We did all of those things and more!
Ziplining through the Redwoods at Mount Hermon, singing our hearts out at Karaoke, riding the trolley, eating the best food at Brenda’s French Soul Food, an impromptu paddle boat ride after getting lost at Stow Lake and so much more made this vacation in San Francisco our BEST summer vacation. We made it our own and had the most memorable time!
I love what I get to do and running my business every day, but it felt so good to be away with my family and spend some special time with them. I’m always looking for nuggets in life, and a few things that I learned from this vacation were:
- It was okay to check in on my laptop, but not to check out on my family. It felt amazing to be present with them!
- Ziplining made me believe that I can do anything. My knees were shaking when I landed safely on the first line, but I was soaring, insert hanging on tightly and knees slightly-shaking-lol, by the time that we reached our final line.
- Keep dancing like no one is watching.
- I need a great recipe for shrimp and grits! Brenda’s French Soul Food was crazy delicious!
- To always make it our own!
Bonus: #Latergrams are perfectly okay. Be present and post later!
Here some pics of a few of our adventures!
