Happy New Year! What better way to start the new year than with beautiful moments from Melissa and Mark’s intimate wedding day last Friday at Chapel Grille in Cranston, RI. I’m elated to share a little about their story and some favorite heart-warming moments from their day.
All of my brides feel like friends, and when you get to see your friend happy, glowing, beautiful and celebrating on her wedding day, it makes me teary-eyed.
I’ve known Melissa for over six years, and I still remember when we first met at Panera Bread. She is a talented hair and make-up artist and at the time we were both in the beginning stages of our businesses. Fast forward, and she has done make up for many of my brides and she also comes into the studio to do make up for branding and headshot clients as well.
To say that I was excited about her engagement is an understatement. Melissa is incredibly kind, warm, thoughtful, and an amazing auntie! She was such a beautiful bride and I’m so happy for her.
Melissa and Mark knew each other through their church, but it wasn’t until Mark randomly invited her to his graduation that their friendship would begin.
That friendship blossomed into them dating, and they have been inseparable ever since.
Mark keeps her laughing, and I think that he might have that effect on everyone that he meets. He has such a fun personality!
I love hearing proposals stories, and theirs is one of my favorites!
On a random night, Mark was stopping by with dinner which was great because Melissa had told him that she had not eaten yet. She was expecting him to show up with a nice, tasty dinner, but instead, he arrived with not a bite of food in sight. (From Melissa) As she was walking away from the table, he had a question for her.
He asked her what her plans were for the next forty or so years and if they included him.
Hangrily, she turned around to respond, and there he was on one knee with a ring box in his hand.
He asked her to marry him, and she said yes!
If you’re wondering, they ordered take out for dinner. Haha!
Last Friday, surrounded by an intimate circle of their family and friends, they shared their vows, exchanged rings, and sealed their day as they tied three cords together as a symbol of their marriage.
Melissa and Mark, I’m so happy for you two (and Macho)!! I’ve said it a million times and I’ll keep saying it. Congratulations!! Thank you so much for the honor to be part of your day. Melissa, my friend, you were a gorgeous bride, and I think wedding planner is your new title. Sending big hugs to you both! xo, Shawon
