Back in the day when Google Maps didn’t exist and MapQuest had not yet started, there was only one option to get you from point A to point B, a handy, dandy Roadmap. 

I never will forget my first big road trip from Alabama to North Carolina. It was an adventure. 

Things were going well, and we were on schedule until I took a business route instead of the highway route. YIKES!

Let’s just insert these infamous words into my road trip…Are we there yet?

Although that alternate route took a few more hours than originally planned, I made it safely to my move-in day for college. True story!

As I’ve built my business for the last eight years, there have been some alternate routes taken, lessons learned, twist and turns, and at times driving in the wrong direction. 

 

Having a roadmap at the beginning would have saved me time and money. 

I spent time and a lot of money on the wrong things. 

Most business owners start with their logo, fonts, color choices, and website. Yes, those are all important but they can also be expensive, time-consuming, and cause you to get stuck with paralysis analysis. 

Believe me, you might go through many iterations and rebranding of designs and graphics until you figure out the right one.
