Raise your hand if you have seen Father of the Bride.  It’s from the 90’s, funny, and absolutely heart warming.  As I think back to this movie, I think about the priceless reaction of the father, played by Steve Martin, to the news that his daughter is engaged and getting married.  Throughout the movie he deals with the changing role in his relationship with his daughter, the wedding planning, and he has a hard time with some sense of letting her go.

There’s always another story unfolding on the wedding day, and from my experience in life as a daughter, a wife, a mom, a sister, and a friend I’m always observing and waiting for stories to unfold.

I love to see the emotions of parents, especially the dad as he sees his daughter for the first time in her wedding dress, as he walks her down the aisle to the man that he trusts to love, honor, and protect protect his daughter.  It’s incredibly moving to watch dad as he stands to give a toast with tears in his eyes about his little girl that is now all grown up, and then as he dances with her for the father daughter dance.

This is one of the reasons that I love what I do.  I know that on your wedding day it’s more than just taking pretty pictures, but it’s about telling a story from your day about two people who love each other and all of the people that love them.  A story that can be relived through pictures of priceless moments.
