This past Saturday, I had the amazing honor of photographing Cara and Chichi’s beautiful Commons 1854 wedding. I am delighted to share the sweetest moments from a day that I’ve known was going to be extraordinarily special because they are extraordinarily special.

It was a full moon that night and after a special dinner in the North End and extra kisses on the rooftop, they would take a casual stroll to a special place that they held close to their hearts. This place was special to them because they would meet here often after work when they first began dating five years ago.

This special place also held their special bench. As they strolled by that bench on the night of a full moon after that special dinner, after having endured a two-year long-distance relationship and settling back into life in Boston together again, Chichi proposed to Cara and she said yes.

Are you seeing twinkling lights, hand holding, tears and lots of hugs and kisses?! Yes!! Me, too!!

Ever since that special night, in their special place that held their special bench, plans have been underway to continue their journey together.

Surrounded by love, tears, heartwarming hugs, and a joyous celebration, Cara and Chichi said I do this past Saturday at their Commons 1854 wedding ceremony.

We started their wedding day with final preparation in the wedding party suite. Cara’s mom made her gorgeous brooch bouquet which was intricately handmade and included some jewelry from her mom and sweet Nana. LOVE!!

It was every bit of gorgeous sparkle like Cara.

After getting Cara into her lovely gown, and before heading outside to see Chichi for their first look, Cara walked out of the suite and turned the corner to have a first look with her dad.

The expressions on both of their faces were priceless.

Chichi was calmly waiting on the outside to see his lovely bride. Just before the last light of sunset, Cara and Chichi shared a special first look. It was an indelible joy.

We had time for a few portraits of them and then went inside for family photos before guests would arrive for their evening ceremony.

Cara and Chichi are kind, thoughtful, sincere, fun and have the most infectious smiles. They left the room breathless and teary-eyed as they said their vows to each other. Their words unshakeable, certain, and the love that they have for each other resounded in every sentence.

There was laughter about their shared love of Harry Potter and joyful applause as they each vowed to continue to endure love’s paces as they’ve already endured challenges and a two-year long-distance relationship.

Lyrics from their first dance song, Latch by Sam Smith, and echoed in parallel with their vows:

The joyous celebration continued throughout the night with dancing and so much for love for these two!

Cara and Chichi, I am so happy for you!! The joy on your special day was amazing!! There were arms in the air, the energy was incredible, the dance floor was never empty, and the love shared between the two of you is in every single photo. More bigs hugs to you both!! xo, Shawon
