Tis the season for engagement sessions, and today, I’m delighted to share a sneak peek from Val and Rick’s cozy Borderland State Park fall engagement photos. Read more about their story and enjoy a few favorites from their engagement session.

The fall season in New England is one of the most popular times of year for engagement sessions. Beautiful yellows, burnt oranges, and reds with greens added in here and there are simply stunning.

Rain, rain go away should have been the subject line of the last emails that I sent their way as we had to reschedule their session a few times. With sunshine in view and anticipated excitement the week of their session, I thought the wind would hold us back. Thankfully, it wasn’t as windy as expected and the moments between them were magical.

Their story begins in a conference room. Yes, a conference room. In a conference room is where they first met. That makes me smile.

Rick was part of an interview team, and guess who he got to interview.

As time passed, they would later become friends and remained friends for more than two years before they started dating.

Their very first date was on Block Island, and although they had a great time, they never got a chance to get back. Block Island is a gorgeous Rhode Island destination that requires some planning and a ferry to get there:)

Well, this summer, after three years since that first date, they took a trip back to Block Island to spend some time together. Val had no idea what was happening when Rick proposed and asked her to marry him. With shock and excitement, they would spend the next hour making phone calls to their family.

Doesn’t that make you smile?!

I smiled a lot at their engagement session because they are incredibly sweet and fun to be around.

They love cheering for two of Boston’s favorite sports teams, going to concerts, and I got a front row seat to the fun that they have together as a couple.

Val and Rick, you two are the sweetest and I am so excited for you!! I look forward to photographing all of the fun and beautiful moments on your wedding day next October!! Yay!! PS…I will always think of you when eating cheesecake! xo, Shawon
