I have a strong affinity to music. It’s a part of my DNA, and I’m sure that it has passed down to my kiddos. For me, music feels good to my soul, it clears my mind, and always puts me in the right mood.
Because I love music, I have a playlist for everything. There’s the playlist for working out. There’s a playlist for when I’m editing pictures with all things Maroon 5. I don’t know why Maroon 5, but the tempo is always just right. Then my playlist of gospel music that keeps me grounded, is played throughout the week, and twice on Sunday. I also have to mention the client meeting playlist that includes tunes like “Banana Pancakes” by Jack Johnson, “I Choose You” by Sara Bareilles, some favorites from India Arie and a few more artists.
And, of course, a Wedding Day playlist is a must. “All of Me”, “Love Never Felt So Good”, and “Beautiful Day” made the list last wedding season. With the 2015 Wedding season about to get into full swing, I’ve been listening for more favorites to add to my list. One favorite that has already been added is Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud”. I love, love, love that song.
When I’m on my way to photograph a wedding, I want to bring a positive, loving, and warm energy to the day. My mind and heart are set towards love, and capturing the day in a way that tells the story of the love between the bride and groom and everyone that is there to share in that day. Music helps me to get to that place.
So, if you ever pull up beside me at a traffic light, I will be that girl with both hands on the wheel, singing, and bobbing to the beat.
My name is Shawon, and I love music. You can thank me later, but press play to listen to “Thinking Out Loud” below:) -xo
