It’s time for another Wedding Wednesday post and I think this is a good one because it’s fall engagement season and what to wear for engagement photos is a hot topic.
Let’s face it, you want to look beautiful, feel good, and confidently show up beautiful and smashing for your engagement session photos. Yes?! Of course, you do, and I want you to look and feel amazing as well.
Here are a few tips to consider as you think about what to wear for engagement photos.
What to Wear for Engagement Photos
First things first, let’s start with the ladies. I recommend starting with the ladies first because once you figure out what you’re wearing, selecting a complementary look for the guys is easy peasy.
Tip #1: You can choose one look that you love, or you can add a second look to mix things up a bit. Consider a casual outfit and a more dressy outfit. Bonus, because you’re all dressed up, head out for a nice dinner after your photos.
Tip #2: No need to be matchy-matchy. Complementary looks are best!
Tip #3: Shop your closet first! Yes, go take a look in your closet and pull out your favorites. You know the favorites that you’d wear on repeat for date nights.
Tip #4: Okay, so you’ve worn your favorite on repeat too many times and you want something different. I get it! I suggest heading to your favorite anchor store or stores. Your anchor store is the store where you could walk in with your eyes closed and pick out your favorite color and size and you know it’s gonna look good on you. Choose outfits that fit you well.
Tip #5: If shopping your closet and taking a trip to your favorite store doesn’t help because who can find something when they need to. That only happens when you don’t need to buy anything. Right?! There are some great places online to consider, and a few of my brides have chosen Rent the Runway and Lulus! I can also say that I’ve had great experiences with Rent the Runway!
Tip #6: Give your outfit a trial run one-two weeks before your shoot to ensure that you love what you’ll be wearing.
Tip #7: Don’t forget about your hair and makeup. Professional hair and makeup will look great for the camera, and you’ll feel even more amazing after having pampered yourself.
Okay, there you have it! Those are my tips for what to wear for your engagement photos.
I hope that you enjoyed this edition of Wedding Wednesday and find these tips helpful as you get ready for your engagement shoot.
